Trampoline Net

Trampoline enclosure or trampoline nets are very important for safety, particularly for children who like to practice trampoline tricks and new manoeuvers. Many serious accidents are caused by falling onto the ground or edge of the trampoline.

In the United States, approximately 75,000 people are injured on trampolines each year, double the rate from a decade ago. Over 90 percent of the injuries are on home trampolines, and two-thirds of those injured are children ages 6 to 14.

If you fit a well designed safety net, parental supervision is still advised, but you can have confidence that your child is much less likely to have a serious accident.

Not all Safety Nets are the same

The quality of the trampoline safety enclosures varys considerably. Trampoline enclosures are made from a high tension polyester mesh fabric, the fabric is soft yet very strong. Most will protect your child from falling off the trampoline but many will not prevent your child from falling onto the outer rail. The outer rail is the circular bar to which trampoline springs are attached. Trampoline pads are essential on this area. However even with pads this still remains the hardest part of the trampoling.

It is recomended that you obtain trampoline safety nets that are attached inside the circumference of the outer rail. Budget safety nets are often not NOT constructed this way. They are often hung directly onto the vertical poles. This creates another danger. Falling onto the metal poles themselves.

It is best if trampoline enclosures are held off the enclosure frame, since this is a safer design. Two well made safety nets are the Bazongi Safety Net and the Jumpking safety net. A cheaper alternative is the Proline Safety Net. Although the vertical poles are not joined at the top, it is a strong safety enclosure, and the net is held off the enclosure poles and trampoline outer rail.

Most trampoline safety nets bolt onto the vertical leg poles of your trampoline. This is a simple assembly operation, and no special tools are required. Fitting usually takes just a few minutes.
